MICRONTECH KILEWS LI-ION BATTERIES
MICRONTECH KILEWS LI-ION BATTERIES
Microntech KILEWS cordless tools are available with a High-performance brushless motor and lithium-ion
battery for industrial purpose. . KILEWS Li-ion batteries are high-performance Li-ion batteries, with built-in protection function to prevent overcharge and over-discharge. Battery
ID identification, which only allows the original charge station to recharge the
battery to secure battery safety and extend battery lifetime. Low voltage
protection and over-temperature protection available in these batteries.
Li-ion batteries –
Lithium is that the lightest of
all metals has the best electrochemical potential and provides the most important energy
density for weight. The energy density of lithium-ion is usually twice that
of the
quality nickel-cadmium. There is potential for higher energy
densities. The load characteristics are reasonably good and behave similarly to
nickel-cadmium in terms of discharge and the high cell voltage is 3.6 volts
present in Li-ion. Lithium-ion may be a low maintenance battery, a plus that the majority of other
chemistries cannot claim.
Advantage
of Li-ion battery –
* High
energy density - the potential for yet higher capacities.
* Does not
need prolonged priming when new. One regular charge is all that's needed.
*
Relatively low self-discharge - self-discharge is a smaller amount than
half that of nickel-based batteries.
* Low
Maintenance - no periodic discharge is required.
* Specialty
cells can provide very high current to applications like power tools.
Ni-Cd and Ni-Mh batteries are environmentally unfriendly, the Ni-Cd
contains toxic metals. Some countries are limiting the utilization of
the Ni-Cd battery. Has relatively high self-discharge, needs recharging after
storage.
